BULK COMPOST & MULCH
One of the BEST things you can do for your plant material is to protect it with COMPOST and MULCH. Soil and mulch are what make your gardens successful. The correct soil and compost gives your plants nutrients they need and mulch protects the plants with:
- Reduces evaporation, allowing the plants to retain necessary moisture
- Suppresses weeds and with the retained moisture makes weeds easier to pull.
- Protects the plant structure against temperature extremes – cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Compost – Enriches the soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests. Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers. Encourages growth of healthy, beneficial bacteria and fungi to help breakdown organic matter. Our mulch has gone through three specific screening processes.
Uncolored, Whole-Logged, All Natural Shredded Hardwood Bark Mulch – It is a rich, dark brown, natural color. Double Ground processed. This mulch is the Highest Value mulch at an excellent price. This is BladeWorks Favorite Mulch as it is an all-natural, non-dyed product which we use in many of our landscape projects.
Color Enhanced Hardwood Mulch – Select your favorite colored mulch: Walnut Brown, Medium Brown, Red, Gold and Black.
Specialty Playmate® Play Area Wood Chips® - This is used to help reduce the chances of injury on playgrounds. It is ASTM tested. Use per CPSC guidelines.
Red-Cedar Mulch – This fragrant, long-lasting, light-colored mulch product has remained price stable for over 10 years. Bugs don't like it and molds almost never grow on it! It will last at least twice as long as any hardwood product.
BULK ROCK - River Rock & Gravel
Decorative River Rock – ¾” – 2 1/2" - Washed river gravel used for landscaping, pipe bedding, and septic systems.
Decorative River Rock – 2 1/2” –5+” - Washed river gravel used for landscaping.
Clean Gravel – ¾” Clean - crushed limestone without fines/lime used for backfill behind retaining walls; excellent for compaction. This is used daily by our BladeWorks Landscape crews.
Road Rock – ¾” with lime/fines - Crushed limestone w/ fines used for roadways, driveways, base material under concrete or brick pavers, fill for fence posts.
