The Bistro at Blooms was never meant to be just another café in Marion. It was built as a third space: the kind of spot where time slows down, conversations stretch out, and real food meets real community. With cozy indoor seating and patio tables that spill out into the garden courtyard, the Bistro offers a view that shifts with the seasons.

rooted in more than food.
our history
Born from the soil of a family business that’s been growing since 1992, the Bistro was planted here with a simple mission: to nourish people in every sense of the word. We started with BladeWorks Landscaping, and then came the Garden Center and Gift Shop. As the Blooms campus grew between Cedar Rapids and Marion, we knew it needed a spot to gather...so we built one!
We make all of our own breads, pastries, cakes, pies, and fillings from scratch. We have several gluten free options because we believe everyone should be able to enjoy a meal with us. Our meats are hand-picked, our sausage is mixed fresh in-house, and our coffee is roasted weekly by Iowa Coffee Roasters. Smoothies, espresso, specialty drinks, and more...every sip and bite is made to order with the best ingredients we can find.
Because for us, quality isn’t a special occasion. It’s every single day, and it’s how we show up for our community.

In an era of endless errands and drive-thru windows, we wanted something else:
A space to slow down.
To work remote with your headphones in and a latte by your side. To bring your friends, your kids, your book club. To hold first dates, job interviews, and long-overdue catch-ups on the shaded edge of the courtyard, where the flowers bloom and the breeze carries their scent.
We’ve designed this place to be cozy, calm, and in vogue. To give you something better and remind you what it feels like to be well-fed in more ways than one.
